Learning happens
everywhere
Every moment, conversation, and observation is an opportunity for learning. We believe all children (actually, all people) have curious spirits that seek to know more about the world around them. Our program Leaders reflect that curiosity and help Learners expand their worldview through multi-sensory and real-world experiences.
We encourage curiosity through inquiry-based activities and exploratory play. Learners gain information when it is logical and applicable for them through curated experiences, rather than according to an arbitrary schedule. Leaders take suggestions and approach conflict with curiosity, aiming to build confidence in Learners in all situations.
Leaders are available for family conversations at the end of each session, ensuring transparency and comfort for all in our community. Families are also encouraged to learn and engage with us whenever possible. We host community family events, outings, park days, parent’s nights out, and service days for all interests.

Traditional learning programs prioritize goals and accomplishments over personal connection. We believe that true learning - the kind that stays with Learners long after the lesson is over - comes along with a safe connection, with instructors, our environment, and the topic at hand. Our Leaders curate an environment of calm and comfort with gentle conversation and intentional connections that meet the pace of each individual Learner.
We are here to support families as they navigate the educational years of their kids. Leaders are navigating the same journey and are excited to be a part of your family’s team! We are making a space and community that every child and family wants to come back to, where the learning stretches beyond our boundaries, and the connections extend through our lives.
CARE
Learning happens
with heart
Our Leaders truly love our families and endeavor to build meaningful relationships with Learners and family members during our time together. We care for Learners through daily celebrations, joyful play, time for music, art, and creativity, and uplifting (and gentle) encouragement. Families also receive learning stories after sessions, increasing the sense of connection and care between the pod and home.
Spruce Learning Co. seeks to care for members in our community through all of our various offerings. We include the Earth in this care and as an indispensable part of our program. Leaders instill a sense of wonder and awe about the Earth and its inhabitants through careful handling of living things, close looking, caretaking, and conservation.
We endeavor to support small, local businesses whenever possible. Check our community event page for upcoming outings and more. We hope to create a wider community of mutual respect and support where all feel welcome to live their authentic lives!
